Editorial policy
Health writing is worth exactly as much as the process behind it. Here is the process, including the parts most sites leave out.
AI is used for drafting. It is not used for judgement.
Articles here are drafted with the help of AI tools, and I would rather tell you that than have you wonder. What AI does: assemble structure, check what has already been written on a topic, tighten sentences, handle markup. What AI does not do: decide what is medically true.
Every article passes three checks before it is published, and every one of them is performed by Jason Lee, K.M.D. — Licensed Doctor of Korean Medicine (Republic of Korea) — not by a tool.
- Clinical accuracy. Constitutional classification, organ relationships, and herb descriptions are checked against the classical sources and against training. Language models state things about Sasang medicine confidently and incorrectly; catching that requires a clinician.
- First-hand contribution. Every article must contain something that comes from practice rather than from the internet — a clinical observation, a number from a programme I run, an approach that did not work. An article that only recombines what is already online does not get published here.
- Claims discipline. Language is checked so that tradition is reported as tradition and evidence as evidence. Words like cures, treats, and prevents are not used about foods, herbs, or practices.
Sources
Classical claims are traced to the source text where possible — most often the Donguisusebowon (1894). Modern claims are linked to the study. Where the research is thin or contested, that is stated rather than smoothed over. Absence of evidence is reported as absence of evidence, not as evidence of absence.
Corrections
When something is wrong, the article is corrected and a dated note is added at the bottom saying what changed. Corrections are not made silently. If you find an error, please write — corrections from readers are welcome and get credited.
